About Our Flower Atlier

A place where flowers and words begin to grow — an atelier where your true self quietly blooms

At our atelier, the main focus of our floral program is Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement. You can learn the Ryusei School curriculum and earn official certificates as you progress. Through Ikebana, students engage with plants while exploring balance, shape, and space, experiencing the joy of expressing their individuality through flowers.

For those who want a lighter introduction, we also offer one-time Ikebana experience lessons, accompanied by Japanese tea and wagashi (traditional sweets). This provides a gentle, immersive way to experience Japanese flower art, whether you are a local resident or visiting from abroad.

In addition, our Arrangement Classes teach the basics of flower arranging, including wreaths and swags, with optional ikebana-inspired techniques. Certificates are awarded upon completion, allowing students to track their learning progress.

We also run the “Welcome Wreaths” Workshop 10 times a year, a flexible, drop-in-style session for participants to create freely and explore their creativity in a relaxed atmosphere.

Small class sizes ensure personalized guidance, making it easy for beginners and experienced learners alike to develop their skills while enjoying the calming, inspiring environment of our atelier.

About Ichirin 一綸

Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Waseda University. Professor of the Ryusei School of Ikebana.
I grew up surrounded by flowers, thanks to my loving yet strict parents, and inspired by my stylish grandmother who adored the arts.

While studying philosophy at university, I also earned a teaching license and later worked as an English teacher at a public junior high school in Tokyo. Yet, I could not let go of my dream of pursuing art. I left teaching and moved to California, where I worked while studying art—mainly printmaking—at university.

During my six and a half years in the U.S., I came to realize the true beauty of Japanese culture and arts. Upon returning to Japan, I immersed myself in the world of ikebana, which I had long wished to study. For over 25 years, I have been exploring ikebana as a form of artistic expression.

Today, alongside teaching ikebana, I create flower arrangements and wreaths that express the uniqueness of each client, with requests spreading through word of mouth. In 2021, I launched the workshop “Welcome Wreaths,” which now welcomes over 100 participants annually.

Through flowers and words, I continue to create spaces where hearts find healing and individuality can quietly bloom.
